Former Workhouse, now housing. 1830s. Rubble to main facade, render to rear.
Freestone dressings and quoins, ashlar to central pediment. C20 tile roofs.
Classical style. Symmetrical composition of 3 storey, 5 bay centre, flanked by
2 storey, 4 bay wings and further 1 storey, 8 bay ranges. 6 pane C20 sashes
throughout with some openings dropped to form small pane glazed doors. Central
block has middle 3 bays slightly advanced with pediment and blind roundel.
String course over ground floor windows binds centrepiece and flanking wings
together. Further string above 1st floor windows of centre block. Gabled and
hipped roofs. The building has important social interest in the locality.
