ST 66 SE MARKSBURY C.P. MARKSBURY VILLAGE

2/16 No. 81 (The Cottage)

G.V. II

House. Late C17, C19 alterations. Rubble, pantile roofs with raised coped
verges on kneelers. L-plan, symmetrical main block with passage through to
winder. 2 storeys, now 3 windows, central gabled C19 porch below 4-pane sash, on
each side are 2-light casements with edge-moulded mullions, gable to west has
2 lights to attic and reset mullion fragments, east gable has single light with
similar mouldings; at rear, the roof sweeps out over a central semi-circular
stair turret with single lights, single storey wing has a 2-light window with
ovolo-moulded mullion; single storey, C20 flat roof extension to east.
Interior: has chamfered beams.
