2.
Very unusual rectangular market hall built by the local architect Hans Price
who designed the shore buildings of Clevedon Pier. Externally, the main structure
is of masonry with glazed walls between the corner piers. Lean-to wooden and
brick extensions surround tile ground floor. These extensions and the main hall
roof are of slates with oversailing eaves. Main roof eaves are supported on
carved brackets. The apex of the roof supports a miniature hipped slate roof
with cresting and finials. A square lantern with blocked windows, pyramidal top
and weathervane rises above.
