Late C17, overlooking River Frome. Three storeys. Rendered. Pantile roof,
3 chimneys with diagonal stacks (some replaced). Long building with 3 ranges
of windows, casements, and a number are ovolo-mullion type (2 of 3-lights for
The Laurels and one of 2-lights for Marigold Court). The Laurels has a small
2-light window on first floor to left (for stairs), and ground-floor lean-to.
Lean-to to right with one window on first floor and a door on ground floor.
To rear: small 2-light casements below eaves. Interior: the Laurels has an
inglenook fireplace.
The interior of Marigold Court has an impressive strapwork fireplace in east
ground floor room dated I.T. (Jonathan Tucker) 1675 (bolection surround with
fruit and flower border and strapwork). Through passage originally entrance
leading into hall with mid C17 moulded beam cornice, and simple corner pattern
in the ceiling, griffin-type bird on each side of centre beam; fireplace removed.
