II
House. C15 with C18 and C19 additions. Left section chequered
red and grey brick, central section timber-framed with
rendered infilling and right section flint with brick dressings,
all with plain tile roofs. Central section 4 timber-framed bays
long; hall of 2 unequal bays, the larger bay open to the roof
and the shorter probably containing a cross-passage and pro-
bably always floored over, forming separate room on first floor.
Left section : Late C18. At right-angles to street. 2 storeys
and basement on brick plinth, roof hipped to street. Tall brick
stack to right. One glazing-bar sash to each floor. 3 glazing-
bar sashes to left return elevation. Later casernent to basement.
Central section: C15, front rebuilt in C19. Parallel to left
section. 2 storeys, close-studded, with archbraces to tie-beam.
Decorative framing above tie-beam, with slight bracketted jetty
half way up gable. Cusped bargeboards. Central brick ridge
stack. Central 3-light leaded casement with bracketted canopy
over on first floor. C20 ribbed door to left under C19
timber porch. Right section: recessed and parallel to road.
2 storeys. One single-light leaded casement to first floor.
Interior: Central section has exposed beams and posts and crown-
post roof. Carved C19 fireplaces.
