House. Early C18. Red and grey brick headers with red dressings. Old tile
roof, 2 end stacks to south-west linked by blank arched panel and 2 end stacks to
north-east. Basement, 2 storeys and attic. South-east front: plinth, plat
bands above basement windows and at ground floor cill level, and moulded brick
triangular pediment with thermal window in sunken panel in tympanum over all 3
bays. Glazing bar sashes with segmental heads and raised brick architraves.
One storey, one bay linking block to right with grey headers, plinth, plat
bank, old tile roof and round arched doorway with impost blocks and boarded
door. South-west front: slightly recessed corners. Central first floor
arched window and oval window in attic above; 9 steps with iron railings
to central 6-panelled door with architrave, keystone and flat hood on large
brackets. Interior: double height panelled staircase hall; 3 flight staircase
with turned balusters. Some good fire places. BOE, Berkshire, p. 312.
