Parish Church. 1850 by Benjamin Ferrey. Flint with Bath stone dressings, slate roof
with stone coped gables. Nave, chancel and north vestry. Stone plinth capping and
string at window cill level, angle buttresses at ends, flint and stone bellcote in three
stages at ridge level at west end.
South front: three bays of two-light cusped traceried windows to nave with steeply
pitched timber and glazed entrance porch between first and second bays. Two
buttresses on right either side of end window. Chancel has two, one-light similar
windows, all with pointed stone arches and hood moulds with small carved stone heads
at bases to nave, and foliage bases to chancel.
Interior: plain, plastered with stone dressings round windows. Credence on north wall of
vestry. The chancel roof is boarded in squares formed by small carved moulded ribs
with decorated bosses at the intersections. Stained glass in two windows on south of
nave and one on north. Stained glass in the east window by Hardman to Pugin's design
has now been removed. Later glass by Ward & Hughes and Powell & Sons remains in
situ.
The building was converted to a residence in 2017. The chancel space and part of the
nave is retained as a living room and the rest of the nave has been converted with an
open-plan kitchen, mezzanine lounge above, and bedrooms and bathrooms. The tiled
roof now has a series of flush roof lights.
