Hall house with former crosswing now Little Gaunt, a separate house. Late
C15 altered later. Timber framed with painted brick and rendered infilling
on flint base, frame exposed on west gable. Old tile gabled roof, flanking
chimney to right, and stack on ridge near centre. 5 framed bays. 2 storeys.
Road front : 5 upper 2-light casement windows irregular with C19 lights.
6-panelled door below at left, the top panels glazed, in architrave surround
with board hood on cut brackets. To right 2 adjoining windows 3-light
casement on left, a fixed light to right. To left of door a 2-storey angular
bay with sash windows and glazing bars. Interior: has large C17 inglenook
fireplace with bread oven, good quality timber frame exposed, queen post
roof trusses with curved wind braces, all sooted.
