Ornamental temple now small house. 1771 by James Wyatt. Square stucco
structure with segmental bays on north and south sides, and rectangular
bay projections on east and west sides. Main floor is crowned with a
cornice and blocking course and above this a delicate Doric circular
temple with slender wood columns, frieze and cornice and roofed with lead
covered saucer dome on stepped base with ball and weathercock. 2 storeys.
South side: 3 sash windows with glazing bars, the centre opening onto C20
wooden landing and straight flight of steel steps to ground: Lower
cottage extension of one storey on north side of no special interest.
The original ball and finial decorations on the side projections are now
missing as is a lead statue formerly under the dome. The temple is
backed by large trees and was sited to provide a climax to a landscaped
vista from the centre of the north front of Fawley Court (see Fawley
Parish in the former Wycombe R.D, The vista is now largely overgrown.
