GV II
Farmhouse. Mid C17, C18 and mid C19. Dressed limestone, flint,
tiled or Welsh slate roof, brick stacks. 'L'-plan; C17 range
gable end to road. Two-storey, 4-window; sashes to front. Four-
panelled door in moulded architrave with flat wooden hood on
brackets to left, 3-light casement, blocked doorway and 12-pane
flush sash to mid C19 range to right. First floor has 2-light
cast-iron casement over door, 3-light casement in former recessed
chamfered mullioned window, single-light casement and 12-pane sash
to right. Left return is mainly flint; 4-light C20 casement and
glazed door to ground floor, three 2-light cast-iron casements to
first floor. Rear of front range has two 12-pane sashes to ground
floor of cob wall, C17 wing has cast-iron casements to return and
gable end with cast-iron casement to ground floor, single-light
ovolo-moulded casement to first floor and 3-light ovolo-mullioned
casement with hoodmould to attic, coped verge with saddleback
coping and broken finial.
Interior has deep chamfered beam with ogee stops and open fireplace
in lateral position with chamfered lintel on stone jambs. to C17
range, first floor has some timber-framed partitions, planked or 2-
panelled doors and herringbone brick panel on north wall, the
remains of open fireplace.
