2 cottages, now 1 house. Dated 1694, but perhaps older in part, with mid
C18 alterations. Rubble, partly roughcast, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 5
first-floor windows. Ground floor: blocked fire window with chamfered stone
surround and segmental-arched head; 4-pane sash window in double-chamfered
stone surround; board door in plain opening; fixed-light window with glazing
bars in ashlar architrave; board door in chamfered stone surround, with
" O "
above a stone inscribed C A; 4-pane casement window in ashlar architrave.

First floor: 16-pane window in double-chamfered stone surround for 2-light
mullion window; 4-pane casement in moulded stone surround; 8-pane casement
in ashlar architrave; 4-pane sash window; 2-light casement window in ashlar
architrave with vertical metal bar. 7 shaped stone gutter brackets.
Kneeler and coping to left. Stacks at ends and between bays 1 and 2. Rear:
projecting double stair-turret of semicircular plan. Interior: in central
section, 2 upper-cruck trusses (North Yorkshire and Cleveland Vernacular
Buildings Study Group Report Number 608).
