House, now 2 dwellings, 1631. Timber framed with brick noggings,
some wattle and daub to first floor. Thatched roof. Two.storeys
and attics, and cellar under south end. 'L'-plan, comprising a
north-south main range across lie of land, 2 bays with central half
bay containing stack, and contemporary wing on west of north bay,
of 1 bay. Framing restored. Two panels high to ground floor, one
panel to first floor, jettied on all sides, the joist ends shaped,
and shaped brackets under extensions of wall plates. Door in re-
entrant angle, to No 295, and similar half glazed door to No 294
inserted in restored gable end to wing. Paned timber windows.
Double purlin roof, half hipped at gables. Rebuilt 3-flue brick
stack, and brick stack added to north side of wing externally.
Interior: Parlour at south end, and living room in wing have deep
chamfered spine beams with ogee stops. Straight wind braces to
purlins in roof and rafters pegged. Main fireplaces blocked.
Later stairs. No 295 has, in south parlour, C17 panelling on two
walls.
