Country house. Perhaps late C17, but much altered and extended in early-mid
C19. Rendered, stone slate roof. L-shaped plan, 2 storeys. South
elevation (of older range): 5 bays. Central part-glazed door in sandstone
ashlar architrave with fluted frieze and cornice on consoles. Sash windows
with glazing bars and flush wood architraves, stone sills and wedge lintels
scored as flat arches. Windows in bays 2 and 4 on first floor are blind,
with corniced stacks above them. Hipped roof. West elevation: 2:1:2 bays,
with blank end wall of south range to right. In fifth bay, part-glazed door
in architrave as before. In centre, 2-storey canted bay. Sash windows as
before. Roof hipped to left. Corniced stack between bays 2 and 3. Named
after C18 tenant called Rudd.
