Public house, formerly stables to Newton Hall (q.v.), mid-to-late C18th.
Pebbledashed rubble with slate roof. Symmetrical composition of 2 storeys
and 5 bays with projecting quoins. The windows are tripartite with square
mullions, except for the windows to bays 2 and 4 on the 1st floor, which
have semi-circular heads to plain stone surrounds, with projecting keystones
and imposts. In the centre of the 1st floor is a Venetian window with
projecting keystone. The windows are sashed with glazing bars except for
the outer ones on the 1st floor which are modern replacements with glazing
bars. The doors, in bays 2 and 4, have plain stone surrounds with semi-
circular heads, projecting keystones and imposts. Gable chimneys.
