Parish Church. C12, C14, C15. Restored 1879. Flint and fieldstone and
clunch and limestone dressings. West tower, aisleless nave, north porch and
chancel with south vestry. Round west tower of two stages with embattled
parapet partly rebuilt and chamfered plinth. C14 west window of two trefoil
lights with foiled head in two centred arch. Single light first stage window
with two chamfered orders in two centred arch. Nave, C14. Restored
fenestration. South doorway, C14-C15, now blocked. Clunch, repaired. Three
continuous orders in two centred arch with foiled spandrels and square head
with label. Chancel, also C14. Restored reticulated tracery of clunch.
North porch, C15, restored with similar outer and inner arches. Continuous
moulded orders in two centred arch, foiled spandrels and square heads with
labels. Interior: Tower arch C14 of two continuous moulded orders, one wave
moulded, in two centred arch. C15 crown post roof of three bays, with
two-way upward bracing to collar purlin. Shallow arch bracing to tie beams.
Chancel arch of two continuous chamfered orders in two centred arch. Late
C17 communion rail has symmetrically turned balusters. Nave has C15 wall
paintings including on south side St Michael weighing souls and St
Christopher and on north side the dragoon of a lost St George. Font, C13,
octagonal bowl on octagonal stem and base. C13.
