Lodge to Crookhey Hall (q.v.), 1877, probably by Waterhouse. Rock-faced
sandstone with slate roof and pierced ridge tiles. 2 storeys. Windows
rebated and chamfered. West gable wall has 2 one-light ground-floor windows
and a 2-light mullioned 1st floor window. At the right is a doorway with
moulded surround, hood, and shaped lintel inscribed: '1877'. South wall,
facing drive, has buttresses at outer sides and a 2-storey canted bay window
projecting forwards with a hipped roof. Its central windows are of 3 lights,
the side windows of one light each. 2-light mullioned window to right of bay.
Chimneys, with 4 octagonal shafts, where roof of bay meets main roof. Gables
have copings.
