Probably a wayside cross. Medieval. Granite monolith about 2 metres tall.
Latin cross with square-section tapered shaft and short arms. Not inscribed
or carved. Set in later slate base.
The cross apparently lay in the yard of Widdicombe House before it was
installed on this site in circa 1880. Its provenance is uncertain.
