GV II

House, of C17 origin but much rebuilt in early C19, and now two
dwellings. No. 66 of gault brick with steeply pitched roof of
slate and end stack. This house occupies two rooms of the
original three room, C17 plan. Two storeys. Two horizontal
sliding sashes at first floor and two hung sashes at ground
floor. The ground floor windows have red brick arches. The
doorway is in its original location opposite the stack. Door of
six raised and fielded panels. Adjoining at the rear is a brick
wing added 1811. Interior: The main beam has a reset panel
carved with a date which is indecipherable. No. 68 is also of
gault brick and was rebuilt in 1823 (dated brick). Slate roof.
Two storeys. Two horizontal sliding sashes with small panes at
first floor and two hung sashes on either side of doorway with
early C19 reeded doorcase.
