House, possibly early C19th with possible earlier remains. Sandstone rubble,
pebbledashed except for the porch, with sandstone dressings and stone slate
roof. 2 storeys, with 2-storey gabled porch. Windows sashed with glazing
bars in plain stone surrounds. One bay to left of porch. 2 windows to right
of porch on ground floor, 3 on 1st floor. The windows on each side of the
porch on the ground floor are tripartite, with timber mullions and with the
outer lights fixed. The 1st floor porch window is of C19th type, of 2
lights with chamfered mullion. The porch door has plain reveals. Set into
the 1st floor of the porch are 3 carved shields, one with the arms of
England, one with a rampant lion, and one with 3 fishes, the latter being
the arms of Whalley Abbey. Interior not accessible at time of survey.
