9/83 Limekilns in Black Scar
Quarry

Limekilns. Mid C19. Ashlar, rubble and brick. 2 segmental-arched,
quoined, ashlar openings, in line, within rubble frontage to kiln. Rubble
lining to triangular-plan hearths, which each have small circular eyes at
top covered with a slab. Above the kilns, flat walkway, possibly for
railway wagons, and remains of brick superstructure along the rear of it.
