Steps, railings with associated walls and gateways. 1838. For
the Sheffield and Rotherham Bank. Ashlar sandstone with
cast-iron railings and gates.
Central steps to Royal Bank of Scotland (qv) with low gates;
plinth walls with 3 panels of railings to each side; end
piers. Side gateway and vehicle entrance on right with stone
wall across yard.
Railings have square standards with pomegranate finials; stout
bars with moulded bases and spiked ball finials. Low gates at
centre and taller gates to vehicle entrance are in same style.
End piers and gate piers have plain, square shafts and
cornices with shallow pyramidal caps.
Coped wall across yard to right rises to same height as the
railings on matching plinth.
