House, early C18 with alterations and basement shop. Roughly herringbone-tooled
sandstone, not all alike; pantiled roof with brick chimney. 3 storeys, attic
and basement 3 narrow bays. Basement has small blank window on right with open-
ing stallriser below. Steps with C20 wrought-iron handrail to entrance terrace
and glazed door, also to lean-to porch, with small door, at right. 2 late C19
paired sashes at left. First floor three 12-pane sashes, 2 early C19, the right
C18, in wood box frames. Three 12-pane sashes on second floor. Windows have
been altered from shorter, wider, stone-mullioned windows, of which traces
remain. Coved eaves course and parapet. Raised attic above with two wide
3-light windows. Rebuilt right end chimney. Right return shows old windows on
top floor. Rear elevation (behind KING STREET) shows modern door, under gabled
bracketed hood, and modern window above, set in old stonework.
