House. C17 or earlier; front rebuilt in C18, and C19 alteration.
Re-roofed c.1980. Cruck-framed, encased in tooled sandstone, some
herringbone, at front; rear whitewashed rubble. Straw thatch. Stone and
rebuilt brick stacks. 1-storey front with 5 openings. Centre left C20
part-glazed door and squat 6-pane sash with painted stone sill at left
end, both with hammered lintels. Right of door, enlarged firewindow with
9-pane fixed light. Tripartite window with centre sash further right, and
2-light, 8-pane horizontal sliding sash at right end. All windows right
of door have painted timber lintels. Centre left corniced stack and right
end external stack. Interior. One pair of full or raised crucks, largely
boxed in but with tie beam visible, between centre and right end rooms.
Reconstructed inglenook fireplace in room to right of door contains
enlarged spice cupboard recess. Curved outer wall at rear of centre room
was original box bed alcove.
