House. Early C17, with later alteration. Remodelled c1950. Cruck-framed,
encased in coursed limestone rubble with sandstone quoins and dressings;
pantile roof with brick stacks. Single storey and attic, 3-window front.
Centre right C20 door in quoined and chamfered surround, stopped at base,
with roughly arched lintel. All window openings have been altered: ground-
floor windows enlarged and first-floor windows raised to form half-dormers.
Windows are square latticed casements with renewed lintels. End and centre
left stacks. Left gable wall: blocked 2-light window opening survives, with
chamfered surround and chamfered mullion. Interior: in ground-floor room to
right is a massive stone fireplace with chamfered stopped jambs and lintel
of 2 pieces. 2 pairs of raised, cross-apex crucks with collars are visible
on the first floor on the landing and in the centre room. North Yorkshire
