5/19 Coach-house and yard wall
attached to the Old
Rectory

Coach-house and loft, now flat, and yard wall. Late C18 with alteration and
some rebuilding c1980. Coach-house of mottled brick in English garden wall
bond with sandstone dressings and pantile roof. Chalk-stone wall faced in
similar brick with sandstone coping. Coach-house: 2-storey, 2-window gable
wall to yard. Rebated segmental coach arch with imposts and keyblock.
Board double doors on strap hinges. C20 2-light, small-pane casements
above, in original openings with segmental arches. Pedimented gable end
contains recessed roundel. Coped gables and shaped kneelers. Left stack at
base of pitched roof. Wall: approximately 3 metres high with rebated
segmental arch to right of centre. Diamond-shaped open brickwork insets.
Flat coping. Included for group value. Rebuilt building against wall
inside yard not of special interest.
