graduated grey slate roof. A symmetrical range with central 2-storey, 3-bay
entrance block, flanked by recessed single-storey, 3-bay wings terminating
in 2-storey, 2-bay ranges. The entrance block has a central round arch
through 2 storeys, the upper part blocked and large double doors inserted.
Flanking round-headed windows with cast-iron frames are set in round-arched
recesses which continue across the front of the building as a blind arcade.
First floor: 2 circular windows flanking central arch; a circular recess to
the gable above; projecting first-floor band continues as eaves line to side
wings and is repeated in the outer blocks. Another band at eaves level
across the gable, which has short corner stacks to either side. A gabled
brick water tower on the roof not of special interest. The wings have
Diocletian windows with small panes. The far left block has an inserted
board door, right and a reduced window to left; two 12-pane segmental-arched
windows to first floor. The block to far right has an original round-arched
window with glazing bars to ground floor left and an altered C20 window to

garage doors to left of central archway; board door to right. Single-storey
ranges each have a board door and two 4-pane sash windows. A segmental-
arched carriage entrance far left; a single-storey range attached at right
angles, far right. Interior: remains of C19 loose boxes to right range.
