5/31 Hackfall Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Late C18, probably for Wm Aislabie,with C20 extension. Coursed
squared stone, ashlar, pantile roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays, symmetrical facade,
with 2-bay C20 extension set back to left. Quoins. Central 6-panel door in
plain stone surround with bracketed stone hood. All windows are 12-pane
side-sliding sashes in plain stone surrounds. Moulded stone cornice. Roof
hipped with central stack. Rear: a semicircular single-storey stone bay
with 3 openings and moulded stone cornice. This forms a completely circular
room inside with a domed ceiling.
