House and watermill. Mid/late C18 with C19 alterations. Red brick and
coursed squared stone, ashlar dressings, pantile and graduated stone slate
roofs. Mill house with mill set back slightly to left. Mill house: brick
late C18, 2 storeys, 5 bays with symmetrical 3-bay elevation to right and
2 wider bays to left. 6-panel door and overlight below stone lintel to 4th
bay , blocked segmental arched doorcase to far left. All windows are late
C19 4-pane sashes with stone sills and lintels, 3 to ground floor, 5 above
Dentilled cornice. Lower pitch of roof of graduated stone slates, the rest
of pantiles. Ridge stack and end stack to right. Mill: coursed squared
stone. Early to mid C18. 2 storeys, 3 bays by 4 bays, L-plan. Central bay
has casement window in former door opening with flush quoined surround with
double keystone, this is flanked by 12-pane casements. To right a board
door. First floor: to left a 4-pane casement, to right a 12-pane casement.
Roof hipped to left, left return has 2 doors, between them an opening,
inside large cast-iron water wheel, mill machinery in situ C19. First floor
has board door and 3 fixed-pane windows. Moulded stone cornice. Pantile
roof.
