Dutch barn. c1775 for the 2nd Earl of Strafford. Coursed, squared sandstone
pillars, stone slate roof. Single-storey, 6 bays plus triangular end bays.
Tapered, cylindrical pillars set on wallstone plinths support hipped roof.
Interior: simple king-post trusses, tusk-tenoned purlins.
Notable building of the Wentworth Castle estate built to add interest to its
former service entrance, early of its type and of very unusual plan. Undergoing
renovation at time of resurvey.
