(east side)
15/113 Churchyard gatepiers
approximately 12 metres
south-west of porch to
Church of St. Nicholas
GV II
Churchyard gatepiers. Late C18. Ashlar magnesian limestone repaired in
sandstone. Each pier has moulded plinth and plain square shaft, the upper
part replaced (or possibly heightened) by a block of sandstone, cornice and
blocking stone surmounted by a large ball finial with band. Later wrought-
iron gates with overthrow not of special interest; earlier curved iron band
with lantern bracket links the finials.
