Farmhouse and adjoining barn. Timber frame of house late medieval and of barn probably C16, both encased in stone in the C17, the house dated 1658. The house was restored c1980. Thinly-coursed rubble with quoins. Stone slate roof.
House of two storeys and attic. The house is a single-bay cross-wing to the barn which is of four internal bays, though the timber frames are separate structures.
House: chamfered plinth. Entrance to right of gable front with moulded surround, imposts and Tudor-arched lintel with eroded spandrel decoration and inscribed:
"1658/ J T/ H"
To the left is a three- and two- and three-light double-chamfered window with king mullions (the left three lights of which are new and replace a C19 doorway). Dripmould rises as hood over door. To first floor is a three- and three-light window with hoodmould and to its right a small chamfered light. Two-light window with dripmould to attic. Hollow-chamfered gable copings on cut kneelers with apex finials. Rebuilt rear elevation.
Barn: set back slightly, large square-headed cart entry. Outshut to right.
Interior: house: two timber-framed bays, the rear bay being a C17 addition. Jowelled posts, king post-trusses. Herringbone studding to rear truss. Barn: almost complete framing with aisles. King-post trusses, reversed-curved arched braces to tie-beams and arcade plates.
