Barn. Probably C17 with C20 alterations. Squared gritstone rubble,
sheet asbestos roof. Set into slope giving a tall 2-storey elevation
at downhill end. 3½ bays with the ½ bay at uphill end. Opposed cart
entrances to uphill bay, one entrance (now part-blocked) with inserted
door. Uphill gable has slit vents in chamfered surrounds, pitching
door. Rest of barn obscured by adjoining buildings apart from downhill
gable now entirely rebuilt with 2 arched entrances to ground-floor
garage and boarded door above. Interior: 4 massive cruck pairs. The
downhill truss has particularly straight blades that extend into the
lower ground-floor garage where they are encased in brickwork. Some
wall tie beams and windbraces to single purlins. Collars below
diagonal-set ridge on downhill trusses. Crossed apex at uphill end.
Secondary trusses support C20 roof. Adjoining buildings not of special
