Ebenezer Methodist Church now auction rooms. c1870. Fine quality ashlar
to front, hammer-dressed stone to sides and rear, Welsh blue-slate roof.
Italianate Classical style. 2 tall storeys raised on a basement. 5-bay
symmetrical facade. Pedestal height string course, sill course and impost
string. The centre 3 bays, approached by a flight of stone steps, has giant
Corinthian engaged tetrastyle portico, deep entablature and bracketed
triangular pediment the tympanum with oculus, finial to apex. Bays 2 and 4
have archivolted arched doorways, foliate carving to impost string and keystones.
Central window in same style. Archivolted arched windows above. Outer bays
have coupled shafted archivolted arched windows to each floor; entablature
surmounted by shaped pediments. Left-hand return has 7 bays of 2-light windows
with arched lights, engaged Doric column mullions and sill bands. Right-hand
return has plain 2-light windows with arched lights.
