Bilham Grange Farmhouse

Large farmhouse. C17. Altered. Rendered walls. Stone slate roof
(bitumen covered) with hollow chamfered copings to main gable. 4 stacks,
altered. Two storeys. Two parallel gabled ranges, one slightly smaller
and set back on garden front, giving L-shaped plan. The main range has
drip moulds over ground and 1st floor openings. The elevation to the
farmyard has an entrance at the left side of each range. Double chamfered
windows include, to left range, two 2-lights to ground floor and fire
window under valley. One 4-light and one 3-light windows to 1st floor
and one 4-light window, in gable apex, with hood mould. One 3-light
window to 1st floor of right range, other windows altered or later.
Right elevation has broad projecting chimney breast supporting two stacks,
one truncated. The breast has brick addition on left side with brick
stack. Lean-to farm buildings to left elevation. The garden front has
various double chamfered windows, mainly altered. Entrance to left of
main range into central hall. Tablet with carved shield to right.
Altered window to 1st floor right, at one time had an inserted doorway
with external stone stair. Altered 4-light window in-gable apex of
main range.

Interior: Oak panelling (painted) to ground and upper rooms of main range.
C17 arched and chamfered fireplace.
