Massive gritstone base to former cross. Thought to be C.11. Rectangular
and tapering upwards with large well cut socket in top for shaft.
Ornamentation on all four sides. Two sides have thin interlace. A
third side has roundel with interlace and below 2 affronted beasts.
The 4th side has scroll and 4 birds in a double frame of interlace.
The history of the cross is not certain.
