G.V. II
Former west wall of church probably Medieval. Approximately 5 metres long
and 5 metres tall. Uncoursed flint and tile with red brick plinth and
dressings. The church of St. John Baptist was the parish church of Ufton
Richard. In 1434-5 the parishes of Ufton Richard and Ufton Robert were
united, the Church of St. John Baptist becoming a Chapel dependent on the
Church of St. Peter. After becoming cottages it was eventually demolished
in 1886. V.C.H. (Berks), Vol.3, pp.1443-4; B.O.E. (Berks), p.246.
