House, now offices. c.1820, incorporating features from the Jacobean manor
house which formerly stood on the site, with some later alterations. Rubble,
rendered, limestone porch, hipped slate roof with stacks to sides and deep
bracketed eaves, double Roman tiled addition. 2 storeys and 3 windows, all
20-pane sashes with margin glazing, stepped voussoirs and keystones, central
portico with flat entablature and blocking course, on 2 columns with Ionic
capitals and spiral fluted shafts (from former Court de Wyck) pilasters to rear
with plainer capitals, panelled and glazed door; plinth and band course. Right
return has ground floor sash and 4-pane sash to right, lower ground floor plate-
glass window with segmental head. Rear has 3 sashes in same surrounds at first
floor, ground floor from left has 15-pane sash with sidelights, 1/2-glazed door
with segmental head and Perpendicular style finial set above, sash and similar
sash with sidelights, all with stepped voussoirs, single storey addition to
right with 2 doors and 6-pane light to end. Interior: doorcases with reeded
jambs and lintels, rosettes in angles, open-well stair with mahogany handrail,
wreathed with inlay work, stick balusters, cornices, shutters to windows, in
cellar a small trefoil-headed lancet, blocked, in deep splayed reveal, probably
part of earlier Court de Wyck.
