Statue of Janus. Medieval. Carved stone figure with 2 faces to represent the old
and new year. Raised up on stone base. Discovered 3 feet under the floor of the
servants hall during restoration of Newton Ferrers House for Sir Digby Collins in the
1880s. Resited to present position at summit of hill overlooking Newton Ferrers
House.
