GV II
Blacksmiths shop. Circa mid C19. Stone rubble and cob. Rag slate roof with gable
ends continued over integral rear outshot with catslide roof. Brick end stack on
left hand gable end.
Plan: Double depth plan; front range probably comprising 1 large rectangular room
with entrance in right hand gable end and forge opposite heated by stack in left hand
gable end. Integral outshot to rear, probably originally open fronted on left.
Exterior: Asymmetrical front elevation with C19 casement containing lapped glass.
Entrance in right hand gable end with C19 plank door. Outshot to rear has double
plank garage doors.
Interior: Not accessible.
The Smithy is still used by the local blacksmith.
