House formerly rectory. Mid C19. Rendered stone walls. Hipped slate roof with
modillion eaves cornice, gabled to wing. 2 rendered brick stacks at left end of
main range and similar stack at gable-end of wing.
Plan: L-shaped plan with principal rooms in double depth front range and service
wing projecting from left end set back. Main range has narrow entrance hall at
centre, with rooms either side and stairs behind left-hand one.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Principal range has asymmetrical 2-window front, the right-
hand side blank with a projection for chimney stack cut off at eaves. Original 9-
pane sashes on 1st floor with 20-pane sash below to left which has marginal panes.
Moulded architraves to windows. At centre is round arched doorway with double 6-
panelled door and open pediment above. A band extends around the house at floor
window sill level. Right-hand elevation has original ground floor bay window with
marginal glazing otherwise similar sashes to the front. Right-hand elevation has
original ground floor bay window with marginal glazing otherwise similar sashes to
the front. Left-hand elevation has original marginal glazed sash window to stairs
with arched head. The service wing projecting from this side also has 9 and 12-pane
sashes on 1st floor and a horizontal sliding 16-pane sash below to left. Open
fronted porch to right.
Interior: not fully accessible but hallway contains 6-panel doors and simple
plaster cornice. The house appears very unaltered externally so internal joinery
and plasterwork features are also likely to survive.
