House. Circa 1810, incorporating earlier building to rear. Rubble, rendered, slate
roof with gable end stack to left and stack to rear wing.
Asymmetrical front with central entrance and canted bay to right, rear wing to right.
Central entrance hall has stair well to rear, one principal room to left and 2 to
right at front and rear in wing. Service rooms to rear left incorporating earlier
building, site of early stair visible to rear left at first floor. Forms U-plan with
rear courtyard, with outhouse range to rear left.
2 storeys and 3 windows, all 12-pane sashes in plain reveals at first floor, ground
floor 15-pane sash with recessed panel below windows. Central doorway has panelled
door with glazed upper panel, Vitruvian scroll frieze and fanlight with radial
glazing bars, pilasters to sides, blocking course and panel over. 2-storey canted
bay to right has 15-pane sash with 5-pane sidelights at ground floor, 12-pane sash at
first floor. Plinth and first floor band course. Right side has pedimented gable
end (also to left side of main range). At ground floor the canted bay has blind
windows, at first floor one blind window and one 12-pane sash. Rear wing to right
has 2 windows, ground floor 15-pane sashes and first floor 12-pane sashes with panels
below. Rear of wing contains service rooms, and has 2-light casement and 15-pane
sash at ground floor, first floor 12-pane sash. 2-storey rear stable/outhouse block
has segmental-headed door. Left side of main range has no windows. Rear gable end
of rear wing has 4-light window and attached stable/outhouse range. Rear of this
range has varied C20 windows brick gable end stack to left; right gable end has
half-glazed door and 2-light casement. Inner side of stable/outhouse- range has
single storey addition to end with door; door and 2-light casement at ground floor,
two 2-light and one 3-light window under eaves. The former stair of this range is
now incorporated into the junction point with the house. Inner side of rear wing has
9-pane sash and 2-light casement at first floor, door and window under corrugated
asbestos hood. Rear of house has door to left, 2-light window and 25-pane sash, 12-
pane sash at first floor; lead rain water head with coronet top and moulded plate
fixings.
Interior Central entrance hall has vaulted_ceiling with moulded arches, door to right
and left in eared architraves with Greek key mouldings and cornice, 5-panelled
fielded doors. Circular stair well to rear with modillion cornice at first floor,
stair has moulded string, wreathed handrail, turned and knopped balusters. Door to
rear right room as to front 2 rooms, plainer moulded architraves and panelled doors
to rear service rooms. Room to front right has Greek key and anthemion cornice.
Panelled shutters to windows. Room to rear right as pantry with panelled door. At
first floor, circular landing, 5 doorways with eared architraves and panelled doors,
corridor along rear wing has doors with Gothic glazed overlights.
