2 houses. Late C18. Watershot stone with slate and stone
slate roof. Each house is double-depth, 1 bay wide and has
3 storeys. No. 401 has a C19 brick porch. Entrance facade
is plain except for 2 doors with square-cut stone surrounds
(one obscured by C19 porch the other by a C20 one in timber)
and a small arched light. The gables have 2-light recessed
flat-faced mullion windows as well as 2 C19 oriels to left.
Rear has 4-light reces-sed flat-faced mullion windows and a
C19 bay window to ground floor, two 4-light windows(as
above) to first and two 6-light (as above but flush) to the
second floor. Eaves gutter brackets and gable chimney
stacks.
