Primary School and house, 1849, extended 1895. Yellow brick with
ashlar and terracotta dressings, slate roof with overhanging
verges having decorated barge boards and projecting eaves with
carved brackets, 2 triple tunnelled terracotta decorated ridge
stacks on school hall, one paired ridge stack and a similar
paired wall stack on the school house. T-plan, with house forming
cross wing beyond the long axis of the school hall. 7 bay facade
with plinth, the house to left of 2 storeys, the hall of one only.
Off centre four-centred arched door in porch link between the
house and hall having a raised coped gable. To left is a
single canted bay window with ashlar surround and slate roof with
lead dressings. To right 5 bays of ashlar cross mullioned top
hung casements in plain surrounds. In the first floor of the
house is a single cross mullioned window. To right side of
school hall is a porch, and on the ridge a metal ventilator.
