Former stables, gateway and carriage house, now house. C17,
altered mid C19 and C20. Squared limestone rubble, ashlar quoins
and dressings, Collyweston slate roof with raised stone coped
gables with single wall and moulded ridge stacks. Courtyard
plan. The front range of 2 storeys, of 7 bays, with central 4
centred carriage arch, flanked by projecting facetted 3 storey
towers with embattled tops linked by a parapet. Above the arch a
3 light window. The towers have single fixed diamond lights to
each floor and doorways to the inner sides. To the left are 2
single fixed cast iron lattice lights, and to the right a pair of
2 light windows. To first floor are to the left 5 and to the
right 4 two light windows. All windows have chamfered mullions,
ashlar surrounds and cornice. The rear range is connected to
the front by side walls and is of 7 bays and of large square
coursed limestone rubble, with chamfered plinth. Central
carriage arch with 4 centred head, now blocked, flanked by 3
cross mullioned windows, 2 of 3 lights and a single 2 light. To
first floor a central 2 light window is flanked by 2 three light
windows with 2 light windows beyond. All windows have chamfered
mullions, ashlar surrounds and cast iron lights. Although the
fenestration is C19 the walling and some details are clearly C17.
