Description

TF 39 SW UTTERBY CHURCH LANE

7/59 Summer House at
Utterby House

G.V. II

Summer house. Early C19. Red brick with slate pyramidal roof
and central stack. Square plan. Single storey with small
cellar, single bay sides. Entrance up 3 steps, a planked door
with glazing bar overlight. To the other 3 sides are glazing bar
sashes, one with panels beneath and the rear one having the
cellar entrance below. Interior has full height early C18
raised and fielded panelling, dentillated frieze and Doric
pilasters flanking the angled corner fireplace which has a plain
moulded surround. It is probable that the materials were reused
early in the C19 when the early C18 house was remodelled.
