Farmhouse, late C17, galletted clunch, carstone and some Sandringham
sandstone, pantiles. Single range, 3 bays 2 storeys, C19 service wing to
rear left. End internal stacks, small axial stack to centre. Plinth and
lower walls of shell carstone, upper walls of galletted clunch, thin brick
quoins, mid-C20 dogstooth eaves cornice. Principal facade to north: early
C19 2-storeyed projecting stair turret in carstone with hipped roof to central
bay, recessed sash with glazing bars, 4 x 4 panes, to stair, door to left
return; blocked openings, renewed and varied fenestration, bays 1 and 3 of
ground floor with 3-light casements with transoms, 1st floor with small flush
swivel window to bay 1, small flush sash 4 x 4 panes with glazing bars to
bay 3. Small single storey addition in carstone under slate to left. Left
return mainly of galletted clunch, casements to ground and 1st floor left,
2 blocked attic windows. Lower 2 bay 2 storey C19 addition to left in
carstone with slate roof, internal stack and gable to right, renewed steel
framed ground floor windows, door to left, casements with pintle hinges to
1st floor. Right return with openings blocked in galletted clunch to ground
floor right, galletted Sandringham sandstone to ground and 1st floor left,
traces of blocked attic windows. Rear: varied openings, changed, renewed
and inserted, including 2-light casement to ground floor bay 1 with flush
sash 2 x 4 panes wide above, French window with glazing bars to bay 2, flush
sash 2 x 3 panes wide above. Interior: roof timbers wholly renewed mid-C20;
C19 closed string dogleg staircase with ramped handrail; cell to east with
ogee chamfer stops to cross beams; stair to front of east stack.
