C16 with alterations and additions, rambling 2 storey house, plastered
finish. Centre part, 2 storey 3 windows right hand ground floor room
has heavily moulded centre and wall beams with rich carving including
stops. Joists now covered, believed also to be enriched. Old grouted
slates to roof, part of back of house slate-hung. Part formerly used
as farmhouse had C16 or early C17 plaster frieze now removed. Part of
open roof principal was visible in one 1st floor room including a cambered
tie-beam Part of south wing, divided off as separate dwelling, has wide
stone fireplace with stopped ovolo-moulded beam, but much restored generally
(and named Manor House Cottage).
