4/47 The Old Vicarage

GV II

Former vicarage. Early C19. Brick with slate roofs. 2 storeys and 3-bay
facade of sash windows with glazing bars beneath skewback arches. One
blocked at first floor and one replaced by rectangular bay with 2 sash
windows with glazing bars and horns and narrow sashes to the sides. Central
enclosed porch with 2-leaf part-glazed door and paired pilasters supporting
a plain entablature. South facade of 4 bays to first floor with a later
canted bay and verandah below. Canted bay with a tripartite central sash-
cum-French window flanked by sashes with glazing bars. Verandah with glazed
roof and decorative iron supports. East facade with a 2-storey semicircular
bay with 3 bays of -curved sash windows with glazing bars. Eaves of paired
brackets truncated and partly hidden by added fascia board. Hipped roofs.
Various chimney stacks. Fine stair with square-sectioned balusters, swept
mahogany handrail and open string.
