Late C12 With C13 and C15 additions. C18 repairs and restored in 1883 by
R.M. Phipson. Partially rendered flint with stone dressings and some
brick repairs. Pantile and slate roofs. Former tower at north west
corner of church fell in 1778. Nave with added north aisle, chancel and
C16 porch. Late C12 south doorway with 2-centred arch and ringed shafts
supporting a roll-moulded outer order and hood-mould with carved medallions;
chip-carving on inside face of inner order. Door has surviving mediavel
ironwork. Perpendicular tracery with one C19 plate traceried window in east
wall of north aisle. C13 north arcade heightened in C15 when clearstorey
and arch-braced roof added. Later in cls north aisle heightened and
contemporary roof partially obscures clearstorey windows. Blocked late C12
tower arch. Restored C15 chancel roof. 3 mediaeval poppy heads on later
bench ends. C16 linenfold panelled pulpit with tracery supported on turned
baluster shafts and fitted with an hourglass stand. Font C.1200 square
with faintly recessed 2-centred arches and supported on shafts.
