GV II

Former row of weavers' houses now detached house. Mid-late C18,
enlarged early C19. Coursed rubble limestone; ashlar chimneys;
stone slate roof. Three-storey with attic; various outshuts to
rear. Front: main part to right is earlier with 3 ranges of
casements, 2 to left segmental arched small-pane timber casements,
leaded iron casements to top floor; 3-light chamfered stone
mullioned casements to right, also leaded on top floor. Small
gabled roof dormer with leaded casement. Addition to left has 3-
window segmental arched fenestration, that to centre on upper floor
blocked, others leaded. Three doorways to row, each with
projecting flat-roofed stone porches with moulded cornice, central
porch with scroll elaboration and doorway with Gothic lights.
Three ridge-mounted chimneys. West end: gable end with flight of
stone steps to upper floor doorway with timber lintel and plank
door; small attic single-light above. Rear: parallel roofed
range to east part. Single-light windows to rear of main range.
Interior: some stone fireplaces. Forms part of group with Little
France Corner and Fernleigh (q.v.) and Halstead (q.v.).
